Dicha pasada
Guillermo Barbieri
Last Joy
Yesterday when I saw you so proud
strolling with the one who was my rival,
I thought of those fifteen springs
that gave more beauty to your gaze.
But today you're not the same as before,
the light that was in your eyes has gone out,
you have a bitterness in your expression,
that no one will know like I do.
And even if you deny that you've suffered
I know well that you've lived
through a thousand agonizing hours
and that in your heart have stayed
the joys of the past
like withered roses...
If you left me for another man,
I don't want to blame you
for how poorly you loved me.
You're a woman, and I forgive you
because in the end, with your leaving
you've made me happier.
I'm like a bee, flying free
and in search of another love, my soul goes,
for when I need some comfort
there's another who gives it to my life.
And since it was your choice to scorn me
I will never return to your side.
I repay you as you’ve known how to repay me,
and I will forget all that past.
