Passarinhadeira
Guinga
Birdwatcher
Every noon
On the gatepost
A finch lands
And I wait for her
She brings the flower of youth within her
Like the finch
Carries spring in its beak
Oh, the singing bird
Flew announcing my love
Every midnight
In a corner of the window
A bird sleeps
In its nest of chimera
I wish for its white rose of a maiden
Behind the window latch
Oh, I wish
Oh, the dreaming bird
Awakened revealing my pain
And wakes up all the birds
Fluttering in the rosebush
Of the birdwatching girl
Hail the great kiskadee
Hail the tanager, the collared finch, the hummingbird
The rufous-bellied thrush
Dove and mourning dove
Thrush
Go, tell her all my suffering
And tell her that I live waiting
