Sólo Sé Que No Sé Nada
Gustavo Almeida
I Only Know That I Know Nothing
I was born knowing how to be a kid
A wild one with the puppets
I changed my own diapers
And turned my car seat into a bike
As a teenager, I was a smartass
I even wrote backwards
The King Pelé of my school
Painted Picasso paintings with my feet
I grew up thinking I knew, but I only know
I only know that I know nothing, I only know that I know nothing
I barely know my name
Or the street that leads me home
I only know that I know nothing, I only know that I know nothing
Behind me is my path
Above me is life, which is in charge
In the game of women
If I tell a story, I count to twenty
I played Don Juan de Marco
But without even knowing how it feels
Because of that cocky vein
Today, it’s all over
I’m lost out in the open
With a cloud of questions on my face
Thinking you’re wise is dangerous, now I know
I only know that I know nothing, I only know that I know nothing
I barely know my name
Or the street that leads me home
I only know that I know nothing, I only know that I know nothing
Against the current of life
Now I know that I know nothing
