Ni Una Más
Habeas Corpus
Not One More
Not one more, not one more victim,
No more, not even the slightest gesture of ambiguity,
Not one more, not an attitude that seeks to justify
Violence against women as something natural.
The male is submerged
In a crisis of values,
Observing perplexed
As his world crumbles,
He feels cornered
And wounded in his innermost self,
He feels threatened
And more victim than executioner.
The rooster of the coop
Loses his authority,
Questions and doubts himself,
Collapses and crumbles.
The rooster of the coop
Refuses to give in,
To share his hegemony,
And to lose his supremacy.
Not one more, not one more simple and plain humiliation,
No more, not a single attack against her dignity,
Not one more, not a woman surrendered to authority,
Subdued to the rule of the phallus and prey to the 'what will they say'.
The male is suspicious,
His figure loses weight,
He sees how his privileges
Are surpassed by the passage of time,
He feels betrayed
By those of his own kind,
He refuses to give up space
And thinks of dying fighting.
The rooster of the coop
Loses his authority,
Questions and doubts himself,
Collapses and crumbles.
The rooster of the coop
Refuses to give in,
To share his hegemony,
And to lose his supremacy. (x2)
Not even one more,
Not one more victim.
