Die Germanen
Hannes
The Germans
Deep swamps and thick woods
Meat hung over the fire, the air was cold
Bold strong men and a rough life
Loyal to family, not chasing wealth
Love for the hunt, connected to nature
The word was hard, a sacred vow was counted
Craft and skill served good purposes
Bravery brought the enemies down
In the icy wind, wolves howled from afar
They drank a lot and loved to fight too
The people from the North—called Germans
Mighty hordes known for their fearlessness
They marched through the land with axes and spears
To defend themselves against their foes
We are proud to call Germania home
We fear no battle, weapon in hand
