What is said of your charms
O city of the good God!
How proudly you rise
Among the glories of these heavens
From the world prepared
For Christ and for His

Your walls are of adamantine jasper
O Zion!
Golden are those streets
Which the redeemed will tread
Bathed in heavenly light
They are always resplendent

Founded by God Himself
Upon the secular rock
How secure are your gates!
Who can threaten them?
Equally secure is
Whoever enters through them!

How happy are your children
Seeing the face of the Lord!
Never again do they feel hunger
Never again do they feel pain
Enjoying with the angels
Full joy, peace, and love!

Behold the throne of the Lamb
Night and day, without ceasing
Flows the river of living water
To quench all thirst!
There with Christ, your children
Will rest satisfied!

If, by Your endless love
I am a child of Zion
Let the world mock and scorn
It doesn't matter, Savior
For from Your eternal joy
Even here I have the pledge!
