Behold, the voice of Christ calls
Over the tumultuous sea
Of this dangerous life
Come to Me for shelter

When once in Galilee
That sweet voice sounded
Soon, the listening heart
Everything, ready, abandoned

Over the seductive voices
Of worldly attractions
The gentle voice of Christ calls
Give Me your hearts!

Whether in the midst of pleasures
Or in the day of affliction
He still calls, patiently
Do you love Me, oh Christian?

On the narrow and holy path
Already trodden by Jesus
To follow Him, He calls you
Come, Christian, walk in the light!

From that anguishing cross
Where His love shines
Listen to the inviting voice
Listen and follow, sinner!
