O Exilado
Harpa Cristã
The Exiled
From the beautiful homeland, I am far away
I am weary
I miss Jesus
Oh, when will I depart?
Birds, beautiful flowers
Seek to enchant me
Earthly splendors are futile
Still I ponder on my home
Jesus gave me His promise
He will come for me
My heart is eager
I wish to soar now
My sins were numerous
I am deeply guilty
But His blood purifies me
I am heading to my homeland
Like a child from his cherished home
I yearn to go
Like a bird to its nest
To flee into His embrace
He is faithful, His arrival is assured
When? I do not know
But He commands to stay vigilant
From exile, I shall return
I await His arrival singing
My home in heaven
I will hear His footsteps resounding
Beyond the somber veil
Birds, beautiful flowers
Seek to enchant me
Earthly splendors are futile
Yet I ponder on my home
