The moment is solemn
The year is already expiring
Swift as thought
What remains will pass

Feeble breath is existence
Brief, ephemeral like a flower
For only those who value time
Have knowledge

Name, fame, empire, glory
Nothing human remains standing
For only firm is the victory
That is achieved through faith

Foolish is the man who runs after
To attain goods under the heavens
Woe to the wretched who die
Without finding God's peace!

The unfathomable eternity
Is blessed by Jesus
Who gives me immortality
Eternal joy, full light!
