I lay in a lake of fame, of horror
I had no hope in me, a sinner
But I have cried out to Jesus the Savior
The Lord took me out of the lake

From a horrible lake Jesus took me
On the rock He established my feet!
A new song sounded in me
To the Savior, Hallelujah!

Now I desire to follow Christ
With all my being I want to feel Him
For He saved me to serve Him
And for His joy, I also enjoy

Only I want to serve the Lord
With great pleasure and fervor
So I will walk from value to value
In the glorious light of the Comforter!

Forever now I will proclaim
It was believing in Christ that I was set free
And it was in His blood that I was washed
On the eternal rock I will stand firm
