Carminha
Late at night I was already lying down
When I heard in the house next door
A real brawl
It was the buddy with his wife fighting
And I was just listening to that couple's fight
Comadre Carmem screaming like crazy
It was a shut up and it started to get empty
Glasses falling, tables and chairs turning over
And in that mess, the low blows began
Carminha my dear, don't hang me with the hammock
Carminha my dear, don't skin me on the wall
But she rubbed his face on the floor
And for over an hour, there was only fighting
Carminha my dear, don't hit me with the paddle
Carminha my dear, I'll never go to the party again
But Comadre Carmem seemed not to hear
The more he asked for mercy, the more Carminha hit
The next day he showed up with a black eye
Scratches on his neck and his face all beaten up
I asked buddy what happened
And he replied that he fell down the stairs
I played dumb not to lose the customer
He thinks I don't know he gets beaten by Carminha
And every time he comes home drunk
He gets slapped on the ear and the brawl begins
