Rap de Moisés - O Príncipe do Egito

Moses Rap - The Prince Of Egypt
What would you do if you grew up displaced
With people from other origins seeing you as family?
Learning to see people who had my blood
As slaves because I didn't know my origins?
Being humiliated every day by a man
Who thought he was a billion times better than me?
In fact, it was envy
Because everyone said I had talent
Because God chose me
By order of the king
The Hebrew baby boys were supposed to die
But my mother hid me, allowed me to live
And in a basket of reeds, in the river, I was thrown
In the hope that someone could see me
The daughter of the pharaoh who was on the banks
Found me crying that afternoon
And because I was found in the river, through her I gained a name that said
Moses, Moses
Take your sandals off your feet
Because the place where you are is the holy land
I am the God of your parents and of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
Don't be afraid, because I know you before you were born
And I chose you to free my people from slavery, to take them home
And I will be with you, as I always have been, My little son
And I will strike Egypt with My own hands
So I returned to Egypt, for I was a fugitive in the land of Midian
For defending a poor Hebrew who was being beaten by a bad man in Egypt
They asked for my heart
So I asked the king and my brother to free my people from slavery
And he denied, more than three times he expelled us
So from that moment on, I washed my hands and the Lord began
(First plague)
Water turning into blood
(Second plague)
Frogs and toads everywhere
(Third plague)
Mosquitoes infest Egypt
(And fourth plague)
Clouds of flies in the land of the Nile
(Fifth plague)
Disease in animals
(And sixth plague)
Wounds plague people
(And seventh)
Rain of stones
(Eighth)
Of grasshoppers
(Ninth plague)
Exemption from light for the whole land of Egypt
A scream is heard
It is the cry of a thousand mothers and fathers, because they have lost their children
For the tenth plague is more cruel
It was permitted by the God of heaven
And because of the wickedness of Pharaoh who disobeyed the supreme God
The angel of death took the firstborn
So we left Egypt with gold and animals
For through pain Pharaoh surrendered to the God of our parents
And when they were in the desert thinking about looking back
We realized that the pharaoh had not left us alone
Horses and carriages infesting the landscape
In front of us a sea and behind us an army surrounding us
Will this be our end? Why did God take us out of Egypt to kill us?
Moses
Order them to march on this sea
In the end they will worship Me
For I will put an end to the Egyptians
And whoever contemplates will know
That I am God, I am the God
Now Moses tell them My commandments
I alone am the only God
Therefore do not worship any image
Do not use My name in vain
And remember the days of My worship
Respect your parents, don't kill anyone
Do not be complicit in betrayal
Don't steal, don't lie
Do not covet what already belongs to your brother
Moses
Order them to march on this sea
In the end they will worship Me
For I will put an end to the Egyptians
And whoever contemplates will know
That I am God, I am the God
