The Neighbors

Our neighbors live a totally different lifestyle than we do.
They feed their kids
macrobiotic food. While a study
not too long ago
showed that kids who are
fed macrobiotically
end up having a language delay. Words like
meat day, gravy, and
half-and-half, they don’t know.
No, our neighbors have a totally different lifestyle than
we do. They have a
lawn mower. Look, we think that’s
just over-the-top luxury.
Our gardener can handle it by hand.
Still, I get along well with the neighbors. Once a
year, the neighbor
and I trim the hedge together. When the job’s done, he always
says right away:
"I’ll make some coffee, come over for a well-deserved
cup of coffee."
This year, I wanted to beat him to it, so I said:
"Neighbor, can you make some
coffee?"
