El Ángelus

The angel came from the heavens
And to Mary he announced
The great mystery of God-man
That the heavens admired.

Virgin mother, our lady,
Remembering the incarnation.
We sing to you all your children
As a star of salvation.

'I am the handmaid of the Lord, my God,'
-The virgin said in response-
'Let it be done to me, as you have said,
May your will be fulfilled in me.'

And the Word to redeem us
Took on his virginal flesh.
He lived as a man among us,
Delivering us from eternal evil.
