El Gallo Fino
Los Hermanos Zuleta
The Fine Rooster
You left my side because you thought
That by leaving me alone your life would change
And I do understand why you left me
I didn't know how to answer those who asked
Oh, people whispered it was my fault
That you were a decent, dignified lady
That I was a bad man, your family said
And that you lived poorly with what I gave you
But as the days passed, they realized
That I was a decent man on every occasion
That you didn't live like a queen because of my poverty
But that I never failed in my duty
Now that they have realized what the problem was
The gossip has decreased a bit
I don't care about that rude attitude
Because in the end, I am still the same
They haven't destroyed me as they wanted
Because in the end, I am still the same
They haven't destroyed me as they wanted
Because I stand strong like the fine rooster
Who is dying but in agony pecks the other
And leaves it lying
For that reason, I always keep moving forward
Even though many have wanted to see me cry
And if I slip, I grab on and never fall
And slowly but surely, I continue my triumphant task
