El Parana En Una Zamba
Hernan Figueroa Reyes
The Paraná River in a Zamba
Arm of the moon that, under the sun
The sky and the water will join
Son of the summits and the jungles
That vast and sweet receives the sea
Bleeding on your shores the blooming ceibo
And the green pampas come to drink
In your languid body, where the summer
Unleashes bulls of mud and honey
The guitars moisten your heart
That will undulate through the wheat fields
Bringing from the north the fruity zamba
And they will leave it at your shores
So that its voice, enamored of the carnal light
Perfumes your women, Paraná
In fields of flax you will regain
The sky you seek in the vastness
Father of fruits and woods:
Your heart flourishes in deltas
Green at the origin you will traverse
Muddy from work the blue night
And from the moon, like a path
Will come your brightness breaking light
