Two threads,
both essential to cut:
one to live the body,
the other to free the mind.
Listen, mother

I was tied to you by the body's whispers
how the doctor stopped
the whisper
The first stop was necessary:
the first law of life.
In childhood
I was given a pacifier,
in boyhood
sent to school
to take up arms for life.
I thank you
for all the values
you instilled in me,
in the way I could
but, in youth
beloved mother!
Remember
if you truly love me
and want me to love you,
I must leave
what I want to be
so that we both
may love each other equally,
