Ave Generosa
Hildegard Von Bingen
Generous Bird
Generous and glorious bird, you are the pupil of chastity, the matter of sanctity, which pleased God
For this heavenly infusion was in you, that the heavenly Word was made flesh in you
You are the white lily that God looked upon before all creation
O most beautiful and sweet, how greatly God delighted in you
When He placed the embrace of His warmth in you, so that His Son was nursed by you
For your womb rejoiced when all the heavenly symphony sounded from you, because you, a virgin, bore the Son of God, where your chastity shone in God
Your insides rejoiced like grass upon which dew falls when it infuses it with greenness, as it was done in you, O mother of all joy
Now let all the church shine in joy and sing in symphony for the sweetest Virgin and praiseworthy Mary, the Mother of God
Amen
