A precious friend I have in Jesus;
His sweet love surrounds me, guiding my steps in goodness.
Without Him here I cannot walk, until I reach Heaven;
So we walk together: Jesus and I.

At times I am tempted in struggles and pain,
Then Jesus shows me the hand wounded for love.
He proved His love, died for me on the cross;
And together we walk: Jesus and I.

I tell Him my sorrows, and all my joy;
In His love I find peace, and strength to live;
And as I journey towards home, I will go by His side,
