Mãos

These hands that God gave me
Were made to serve
The neighbor next to me
Who no longer knows how to smile!
Through my hands
I intend to show you
The smile of Jesus

Hands consecrated for the cause of love
Hands dedicated to the service of the Lord
Hands concerned with joining those of Jesus
Hands that do not fear the encounter with the light

In the sky, in the sea, in the flower
There's a detail of love
There's also in the evening
The poetry of the dawn!
In the natural beauty
I contemplate the fingerprint
Of the hand that created me

My hand with those of Jesus
Will unite in the ideal
Of showing that His cross
Is a very real fact
Through this union
I intend the integration
With Jesus and with you
