Rough cross was erected, the day fled from it
As a symbol of shame and pain
But I contemplate this cross, because on it Jesus
Gave his life for me, a sinner
Yes, I love the message of the cross
Until I die, I will proclaim it
I will also carry my cross
Until I exchange it for a crown
From the glory of heaven, the Lamb of God
Descended to the humiliating Calvary
This cross has endless attractions for me
Because on it Jesus saved me
On this cross He suffered and died for me
My Jesus to give me forgiveness
And I rejoice in the cross, from it comes grace and light
For my sanctification
Here with Jesus, the shame of the cross
I want to always bear and suffer
Christ comes to take me and, with Him, in the home
I will have a share of the glory
