Your People Gathered
Eternal Father, Your people gathered,
Humbly, sing Your praise here!
On the day set aside for worship,
With hope we look to You.
Your holy book, O great God, we take
With simple faith and reverent love,
And, as attentive children, we seek
Knowledge in the Word of the Lord.
Jesus,
Sitting at Your blessed feet,
We want to receive Your counsel!
And, being taught by You,
To grow more and more
In holy faith.
Removed from the world and its burdens,
We want to rest in You, Lord,
Gazing at the rich treasures
In the fullness of Your vast love.
Teach Your own, Divine Spirit,
Dispel the darkness from these hearts!
And, with the light of Your heavenly teaching,
Come clarify Your instructions.
Revive in us the strength of memory,
For we always want to know more.
The King of heaven, Christ, whose glory
Delights the holy angels with joy.
