Of knowledge, a gentle guardian
Giving your people the purest certainty
Of a happy, prosperous tomorrow.

It's Lajedo of the book and the hammer,
Of the school that enlightens and seduces,
Of the fruitful sweat of labor
Transformed into fields of light!

You have in the sky that soars above you
Shining with grace the Southern Cross...
And it's on the wings of the wind that emerges,
Like a prayer, the song of the coconut trees.
