Anthem of Sorocaba - SP
I
We salute you, dear Sorocaba,
With great joy and fervent love;
from the wild jungle, the Indian and the village,
we will sing your deeds, your worth.
On the northern slopes of Paranapiacaba,
you rise as a Queen of splendor,
and at the foot of the Araçoiaba hill,
you are a pioneer of the São Paulo state interior.
Oh Sorocaba, we sing triumphantly,
brave heroes, we sing your pioneers;
City, you are daughter and mother of bandeirantes,
with great pride, the 'Land of Tropeiros'.
You are, oh Sorocaba, one of the springs
of this great glorious São Paulo,
city of Work and Schools,
of the Liberals with bellicose pride.
With your skyscrapers, you soar high
all the ideals of a hardworking people,
and the industrial potential you control today
is a sign of a more powerful Brazil.
II
You, Sorocaba, march 'pari-passu'
with your sisters, alongside the first ones,
You march with São Paulo in step,
Since the golden times of the bandeiras.
You were land of cowboys, champions of the lasso;
With their troops, with their famous fairs;
today you are commerce, industry, steel towers,
Everything is your blood, in the Brazilian veins.
Oh Sorocaba, we sing triumphantly,
brave heroes, we sing your pioneers;
City, you are daughter and mother of bandeirantes,
with great pride, the 'Land of Tropeiros'.
At dawn, the orchestra of whistles,
The worker marches to his industrial task
and the men of words and writings,
of sciences, actively involved in your progress;
to schools to reap blessed fruits,
the youth marches manly,
Knowledge and Labor march contrite,
in prayer to God, for the Fatherland - Brazil.
