The happy calm of the Bay.

If from the Atlantic the tuba is heard,
Resounding in the maritime space,
Holy belief! It is an altar-Brejatuba,
From where Christ blesses the vastness!
What festive landscape, for sure,
Will a more solemn artist find?
Where the starry sky is closer!
There are no more beauties in the world!

Faithful lover of the ocean
That sobs on the beaches, feverish;
Of your eternal finery I am proud
White nymph of the south of Brazil!
O city-nativity scene, on your tracks.
