My Summer Vacation
When summer vacation comes, along with the cicadas' voices
The sound of the waves beckons me
Children seen from outside the window
Are all searching for shade as they walk
Counting the steps barefoot in the sand
To the place that hasn't changed since long ago
In the blue sea, we remember
The seashell we found that day once again
Even if interrupted by the waves, we keep searching
For the seashell that's no longer there
Sitting alone under a small tree
The blowing wind soothes me
The shadow reflected in the sunset is searching for someone
Because it's getting dark, I return
The smell of summer makes my heart
Race as if stumbling
From the top of a tall tree, the scenery I see
The sunlight illuminates this town
The seashell I held tightly
Leaves me and disappears
In the midst of a lost and wandering path
The one that showed me my way was
The rainbow-colored seashell I found that day
I don't want to see the scenery of a boring summer
I want to sweat and laugh forever
The shining seashell
Disappears somewhere, and summer ends
