La Belle Vie

I knew for a rather short time
something that resembles love
a voice sweet as honey
that follows me even into my sleep

a promise and a blink of an eye
and one would almost believe we're inseparable
maybe it's because it's ephemeral
that we cling to these dream fragments

I think about it like I breathe
maybe even worse
even a thousand times cursed

and above all, how good it feels
to know we are made for this intangible world
almost makes you think
we have a beautiful life after all
