El Cerro del Huinora
Honorables
The Hill of Huinora
In a corner of the mountains, right by the Huinora
Everything's been fading away, people cry in sorrow
Some houses stand empty, their collectors have left
Some to big cities, others to the lost valley
How many fortunes left, from those rugged hills
Now enjoyed by new rich folks, in the big cities
That Sunday hill, of blue and Aviles
Of those three settlers, just before '33
Music, parks, and beer, were plenty in that place
Profits from merchants and a soldier or two
The alders were shattered, splintered by gunfire
How many lives were cut short, oh lord, so many failures
That ranch of San Felix, of Chompa and Frijolais
Orphans, mothers, and widows, who can't forget
Goodbye hill of Huinora, ravaged by time
You witnessed it all, and will return to old towns
