Anhelo Infinito
Humberto Monroy
Infinite Longing
I want in the afternoons
When the sun goes down
To go with my woman
Towards the shore
To cast the nets
And between beach and beach
Row together the two of us
In my little boat
And after the full moon rises
While the breeze laughs among the flowers
Swing embraced
To my brunette
In my hammock
Seeds and colors
Then return
To my white little house
And fall asleep in the warmth
Of my beloved
While her loving hand
Plucks notes from my enamored guitar
And together between the jungle and the plain
The mountain and the river
Love my land
And not return to the impure city
That has filled
My heart with sorrow
