Allí nací
Ignacio Corsini
I Was Born There
Over there where the golden sun shines; where the mountains wear a pearl-like sheen
And the sky blankets the land with its white, gauzy veil
On that glazed ground painted in vibrant green
Where the charrúa makes its nest and the old puma prowls
There, among soulful songs, I was born smiling
Where gentle lights dance; like a nymph, the dawn
Holds all the foliage close; with its pink poncho on
Where, feeling the beautiful; song that binds to the soul
Like showing the claws; of Argentine feeling
It etched its sad, divine; notes on the guitar
Over there where an old gaucho with long beards; my father
After my mother passed away; no longer saddles his blue horse
Where a scent; a sketch like a fading breeze
Cuddles in the grove with vibrations of joy
And kisses the black hat; that hangs on my neck
