La Dama de La Ciudad
Ilan Chester
The Lady of the City
He was from the farthest place from the horizon
Where Mother Nature never hides
Where the sunset is as clear as the sunrise
He was just a peasant, just a path
Ay ay ay
He was one of those with a lot of patience
He was already leaving his adolescence behind
And he watched the ladies coming from the city
In elegant nightgowns going to spend their vacation in the plains
She was refined and simple
Yesterday he saw her in the chapel
So different from all the people in the city
Her hair shone in the quiet night
Her bright eyes, dancing stars today
The lady of the city, the dream will take you away
And so the days went by
She paid him no attention
But suddenly, with all her people, she left
The lady of the city
Surely won't return
And he was one of those who always, at dawn
Was more than ready for milking
Rumors say that he's no longer seen around the plains
Since the day she left, by midday, he was no longer heard of
He doesn't want to see her anymore
He doesn't want to see her anymore
The lady of the city
