What does it mean to be yourself?
When I was a child, I never cared
If something went wrong, I would get angry
I was honest in saying what I wanted

Time changes us
And I no longer need what I once sought
When I lose something, I gain something to treasure
That is now what makes me spectacular

But as we grow, we suffer more
By keeping our true feelings inside
But when we see life passing by
There is something more that you can find

That's why I keep being who I am
And I want to see you as you are
It wasn't in the plan to be with you
After all, we are so different

I'm not going to pretend to be like you
And you shouldn't change for me
Maybe it's okay to hold your hand
