Between Faith and Reason
When he heard his son ask
And the lamb, where is it?
His heart bled
When he heard his father reply
God will provide
His heart feared
And side by side, in silence they both cried
Seeing the place of decision arrive
A request that breaks the heart
How to choose between faith and reason?
When saying no is not an option
And faith asks for a yes
When it's necessary to face
And the soul wants to flee
It's hard to be like Abraham
And deliver a son
To be Isaac and lay down
Upon the stones of the altar
When he heard his son ask
And the lamb, where is it?
His heart bled
When he heard his father reply
God will provide
His heart feared
And side by side, in silence they both cried
Seeing the place of decision arrive
A request that breaks the heart
How to choose between faith and reason?
When saying no is not an option
And faith asks for a yes
When it's necessary to face
And the soul wants to flee
It's hard to be like Abraham
And deliver a son
To be Isaac and lay down
Upon the stones of the altar
When saying no is not an option
And faith asks for a yes
When I need to face
My soul wants to flee
I need to be like Abraham
And surrender everything
To be Isaac and lay down
Upon the stones
It takes courage to climb
It takes faith to accept
It takes strength to say yes
And lay down upon the stones of the altar
The other day I read in a magazine a statistic
That said the number of people was growing
Who no longer want to be in their body
Who can no longer be in a church
And I heard a pastor saying that this is a generation of wounded
A wounded generation, people who hurt themselves at home
Within the family, people who hurt themselves in the church
People who can't take it anymore
Our cry in these days, our cry
Is that the Lord pour out His spikenard
The spikenard that covers the smell of the wound, the healing spikenard
The spikenard, pour out Your precious oil on this generation
And may this generation exhale the sweet fragrance of the Lord Jesus
And may this generation be covered with the scent of the perfume
Of the Lord Jesus
May this generation spread the scent of the Lord Jesus' spikenard
Wherever they go
May this generation be a generation impregnated
With the anointing of God (hallelujah)
This is our cry
And I want to invite you to cry out with us tonight, saying
Pour out the spikenard, Lord, pour out the spikenard upon us!
