Homero
Intoxicados
Homero
When he leaves work, Homero comes thinking
that when he gets off the bus, he will dodge some cars,
cross the avenue, get into the neighborhood,
say hello and give some change to some bums.
He turns into the first hallway and sees he's getting close,
and a narrow elevator takes him to the door of the shack.
He says he's very tired and on top of that, they didn't pay today,
it's impossible to break out of this routine and he wonders, until when?
It's hard being a worker to take care of the bread
for your wife, your children, the rent, and something more.
He enjoys his days little, thinking about how he'll manage,
if in that job they don't pay and they ask for more each time.
What an injustice that efficiency and responsibility are not valued,
because he killed himself thinking today and he's the same as anyone else,
Homero is tired, eats and wants to go to bed,
he wakes up again and between weekdays and mate he wonders, how much more?
And that's how it is, the life of a worker is like this,
life in the neighborhood is like this
and few are the ones who will get away.
And that's how it is, we learn to be happy like this,
the life of the worker is like this
and few are the ones who will get away.
