Hino de São Pedro e São Paulo
Irmã Míria T. Kolling
Hymn of Saint Peter and Saint Paul
Today and always of the church pillars
In the foundation of Christ the Lord
There in heaven, like two luminaries
Shining in celestial splendor!
Happy Saint Peter, gatekeeper of heaven
On the inverted cross, without being guilty
And you, Saint Paul, doctor of the people
In the pain of the sword, you gained heaven!
Now, therefore, pray for us!
Pray for us, pray for us!
You are luxuriant olive trees of God
Candlesticks of intense brightness
Always two crowns of roses
Giving Rome perfumes of love!
Happy Saint Peter, gatekeeper of heaven
On the inverted cross, without being guilty
And you, Saint Paul, doctor of the people
In the pain of the sword, you gained heaven!
Now, therefore, pray for us!
Pray for us, pray for us!
Different, thus, in the past
But, afterwards, similar in light
One in faith, so happy, with the staff
The other in pure passion for the cross!
Happy Saint Peter, gatekeeper of heaven
On the inverted cross, without being guilty
And you, Saint Paul, doctor of the people
In the pain of the sword, you gained heaven!
Now, therefore, pray for us!
Pray for us, pray for us!
If on earth you were united
More united in heaven you are today
In the mystery of love redeemed
Always now reigning with Christ!
Happy Saint Peter, gatekeeper of heaven
On the inverted cross, without being guilty
And you, Saint Paul, doctor of the people
In the pain of the sword, you gained heaven!
Now, therefore, pray for us!
Pray for us, pray for us!
