De Sevilla A Madrid
Isabel Pantoja
From Seville to Madrid
I left my Seville one day in April
smelling of carnation
and I came to Madrid singing my voice
like a bell
And Madrid welcomes me with the Cibeles
which is a silver mirror
and faithful lovers
Where are you going and why have you come
and what are you looking for here
Where are you going
a love reciprocated
that enters my senses
like the air of Madrid
If I reach El Retiro
my blood burns
with the sparks of fire
that are in the evening
From Atocha to Las Vistillas
I go in search of a love
and the flowers of the city
of Madrid give me their scent
With its aroma I get jealous
in the light of this sky
which is a royal tapestry
Oh Madrid of my soul....
While the golden ghost of love
wanders through the meadow
of Madrid
Going down to tanners
I looked for my Julian
and there I found him
And then in Arganzuela
the bearded lad
who was Juan Jose
The Virgin of Almudena advises me
not to miss the evenings of her novena
Where are you going so Sevillian
and what are you looking for here
Where are you going
to ask them as a sister
to Casta and Susana
to show me their Madrid
Chulapos of Manzanares
how they strut
when some handsome lad
flirts with me
From Atocha to Las Vistillas
I go in search of a love
and the flowers of the city
of Madrid give me their scent
With its aroma I get jealous
in the light of this sky
which is a royal tapestry
Oh Madrid of my soul....
While the golden ghost of love
wanders through the meadow
of Madrid
