Cantos a Lo Divino
Isabel Parra
Divine Chants
First of all, I greet
Your sweetest father,
I also greet the mother
Who carried you in her womb.
I greet the noble people
Who show you such reverence,
Asking God for mercy
To grant you salvation
In the presence of the Lord
I greet the beautiful table.
The first man was God,
Mary the first mother,
She sheds tears
Seeing her son die.
In paradise he was incarnated
Among the Jews
And he was so badly wounded
That the Lord tried to uproot.
Mary went to reach him
At the banks of a river.
Oh yes, at the banks of a river.
They say that God indeed
Is made up of three persons
And wears a crown
Adorned with sapphires.
It is very clear
What will happen in the world,
Those who will deserve
The forgiveness of the eternal father,
For there is also a hell
That starts to shine.
Mother, I bid farewell
And do not grieve for me.
I hope in God that in heaven
We will see each other.
In the swift passage
My destiny has been fulfilled,
Purifying the divine
I will enter into glory
And before I depart I will say:
Farewell, farewell, unworthy world.
