Cuartetas Por Diversión
Isabel Parra
Quatrains For Fun
Look what a devil the cheap wine is
Made with water and rosemary
It goes to my head
As if it were a hat.
Singing I will go,
Whistling I will go,
Singing far away
I will console myself.
That woman is crazy,
She wants me to love her.
That her husband loves her,
He has the obligation.
I like to see the poor
When they are in love,
With their hat over their eyes
And the threads hanging.
The women don't like me
Because I have a torn poncho.
It's easy to fix, girl;
I take this one off and put on another.
On top of a tall pine tree
St. Juliet was
Flirting
With St. Thomas Aquinas.
I have run out of verses
And I will have to send for more,
In my house I have a tree
That will want to be sung about.
