Tu voluntad más fuerte que el destierro
Isabel Parra
Your Will Stronger Than Exile
In these dark days of nostalgia
southern winds erased the distances,
I see the future, the paths have opened,
you bring life, my land, to its destiny.
A lump forms in my throat
due to your way of fighting, your hopes,
the image you gave to your dreams,
your will stronger than exile.
Here I am, a different person since the day
you arrived with so much poetry,
calm in the whisper of this absence,
inundated by the sun of your presence.
It's never too late to talk about springs,
the ivy bloomed again.
Stories are not lived without songs
nor papers filled without reasons.
Ghost, you come and go through the house,
real as the memory that embraces me,
taken to sail through eternal days,
your sea, your tenderness were mine.
There's a secret hidden by the mist,
there's a perfume wrapped in carnation.
A desire pursues me, surrounds me:
to see one day the skies of your village.
