Cuartetas Por Diversion
Isabel y Angel Parra
Quatrains For Fun
Look what a devil the cheap wine is
Made with water and rosemary
It goes to my head
As if it were a hat
I will go singing
I will go whistling
Singing far away
I will console myself
That woman is crazy
She wants me to love her
That her husband loves her
He has the obligation
I like to see the poor
When they are courting
The little hat over their eyes
And the frayed edges hanging
The women don't like me
Because I have a torn poncho
It's easily fixed, girl
I take this one off and put on another
On top of a tall pine tree
St. Juliet was
Flirting
With St. Thomas Aquinas
I have run out of verses
And I will send for more
In my house I have a tree
That will want to be sung about
