Continuous Session
They were days of cotton candy,
shorts and rain soaking a blue summer.
They were my first days at the movies,
the first scars that love tattooed on my skin.
Every Saturday punctually at the Excélsior
feeding my dreams of two diamonds at the box office.
A girl selling tickets,
who split my soul in two by smiling behind the glass.
And when the Millennium Falcon roared to the rescue on the screen,
I was Han Solo and she Leia giving me my change
and two tickets to heaven and by my side Indiana Jones,
lost, looking for the treasure we hid.
Continuous session by your side, I am your eighth passenger,
walking on the Nostromo, looking for you to nest in your chest.
My heart did somersaults like a possessed Bruce Lee
when the light came on and I found you there.
Time passed. The Excélsior closed
and in its place they opened a supermarket that I already told you about.
You won't find it on the billboard,
its neon signs don't light up the Albufera.
Still when I go to the movies
I look for her sad gaze lighting up the box office.
But the glass only reflects back to me
the reflection of this child who insists on not growing up.
And when the Millennium Falcon roars on the TV at home
I'm still Han Solo and she Leia in my arms.
Who would have kidnapped you?
Who stole the perfectly centered tickets from my dreams
to see your body burn?
Continuous session far from you. I'm still your eighth passenger
walking on the Nostromo. Looking for you to nest in your chest.
When the light comes on, like the old Woody Allen,
I am left alone and broken as I search for you as before.
And when the Millennium Falcon roars to the rescue on the screen
I'm still Han Solo and she Leia in my arms.
I'm accompanied in the escape
by the poor witch Avería,
Naranjito, E.T. and Fantomas,
my refusal to grow up.
Continuous session far from you. I am your stray dog
patrolling the neighborhood, looking for you to nest in your hair.
The dark side has trapped me.
Today I return to your future
to search for you in my dreams,
to see your body burn.
