Balance
I take stock
And review old photos.
I am no longer that boy
With lightning in his eyes.
I keep fears
For which I still must sing.
I still feel the icy vertigo
When looking back.
I still get emotional
About old struggles,
The 'they shall not pass'.
America hurts me.
I love to travel.
I dream and fight
In your laughter,
In friendship.
I read comics.
I hate waking up early.
I still believe in utopia
And I am not the best man.
I admit that it tires me
To always give explanations.
I want you to know
That, although I carry my failures,
If you want to count on me,
I still hold fire in my hands.
I have learned
To pack my bags
And eat alone.
To fix broken mirrors.
I know the treasure
Of the smallest things,
I don't always know
What is urgent.
I take stock.
There is still everything to do.
If you want, I'll accompany you.
I am nothing more than what you see.
