Milonga Para Constâncio Soledad

Milonga For Constâncio Soledad
Constâncio arrived at the ranch
And the house was empty
Not of furniture, not of things
But of something more valuable
He called her three times
Went to the patio, went to the living room
In the bedroom, he found the answer
To the question that never stops
(It never stops and never sleeps)
They say that abandonment always
On the pillow of sorrows
Drives sleep far away
Years later, Constâncio
Still licks his wounds
(And those who know him well say
- He lost the appetite for life)
Constâncio doesn't feel hunger
But pain always sets the table
In him, there's a pendulum that swings
Between anger and sadness
Thin in soul and body
(Boat without water and without a dock)
On his forehead, embedded and tense
A smile of never again
