Le Cœur Au Bout Des Doigts
Jacqueline Taieb
The Heart at the Fingertips
A flower between the lips
A smile in the corner of the eyes
A gaze filled with dreams
And gold in the hair
He puts out his cigarette
And tells me to come dance
As today is my celebration
I want to love you
I step towards the dance floor
He holds me in his arms
He says I seem sad
And I don't answer him
He says I am a poet
And caresses my hair
Raising my head a little
I see he has blue eyes
The heart at the fingertips, hey, hehey
The heart at the fingertips
The heart at the fingertips
And when the dance ends
He talks to me about his dog
About his love for France
About his mother who is far away
Then he tells me that on earth
He has had only one friend
And that he hates war
I reply me too
We part ways once dead
And the next morning
He is there at my door
With a guitar in hand
And suddenly stops at the entrance
When I tell him he is beautiful
And I close the window
And he draws the curtains
The heart at the fingertips, hey, hehey
The heart at the fingertips
The heart at the fingertips
