I'd like a pretty boat
To have fun
A beautiful golden wooden boat
To go fishing for cod

I'd like a nice carriage
To take a stroll
And splash the girls
Who dance in the streets

I'd like for people in the streetcars
To be kind
To say thank you and please
On the streetcar platforms

I'd like for all the beggars
To be able to sing
Early in the morning and late at night
Songs of freedom

I'd like for houses
To smell good
Of bread, beer, and ham
Swinging from the ceiling

I'd like a nice airplane
To see God
A beautiful, flexible and light airplane
That would take me high in the sky

And I'd like for little children
Not to be mean
And for their laughter, like water jets
To refresh humanity.
