Retsu no Matataki

Like the full moon, I wish for something far away
Opening a journey of courage to the world reflected in my eyes

To a place unseen by anyone, faster than anyone else
Yet, even so, I start to run with what I know

Burning bright red, right now in this place
If I look back, there’s a path that’s opened up
The breath that cuts through is like a fierce wind

I know this moment, this time that’s passing
In the depths of the flowing current, I’ve sharpened my shadow

Now, still searching for a place I haven’t seen
Holding onto my feelings deep in my heart

The full moon is shining down on me
My piercing thoughts blow like a fierce wind

In this moment that’s racing by, within the flicker
That’s the very breath I sought, this fleeting moment
A moment that rushes by with intensity

As this time passes, I let my feelings out
What do I see at the tip of my penned thoughts?

Now that it’s passed, from this moment onward
Time waits for no one, nothing is expected
Because of that, it’s fleeting, because of that, it’s beautiful
The fierce feelings and a single gust of wind
Indeed, in that moment, I will become the wind.
