December twenty-two
Coming home for Christmas
I drop my stuff and kiss Mom
Wait, where are you going?
You look skinnier, I know something's up
I gotta tell you
That even if you don't believe it, at my age
I've had my heart broken once again

I brought it on myself, I have to accept it

I took the keys to Dad's old truck
That they haven't moved since he’s been gone
It still smells like his cologne

I barely drove a few streets and parked

Planning how to escape
Watching the buses leave
