The Homeless Man
Walking through the streets of a big city
A homeless man approached me and started to talk
He said to help him, that he hadn’t eaten anything
And his face showed a lot of pain
I thought, this guy is a junkie, I’m not giving him anything
And I tried to walk away, but he grabbed me
He said
Say a prayer and ask God to send someone else to lend me a hand
He said
Tell me something about my hometown, did you get baptized, are you still with the Lord?
You look good
And it makes me happy even though I can’t give you a hug and a kiss
Because I’m in this state
And I looked at him
And he was the same guy who talked to me about Jesus Christ a while back
And showed me salvation
And I couldn’t hold back the tears
I hung onto the homeless man’s shoulders
And that guy who was my great friend, rejected by me
I never imagined it
And I couldn’t hold back the tears
Seeing him in that situation I cried, I cried
And even though I was well-dressed, I forgot that moment
When I found my friend
And I cried, cried out of sadness and pain
And I cried, cried for this situation
No one gives a dime for him, society has rejected him
Because he got caught up in the evil that the devil offers
And I cried, cried out of sadness and pain
And I cried, cried for this situation
When I was lost this man helped me
When I was living drunk, he gave me his hand
He explained the word to me, he was the one who advised me
He was the man God used for my good
When I was down, he was the one who helped me
I’d go to his house and he’d feed me
He said
That he had the biggest boredom on Earth
He said
It’s hell in my life, alcohol and drugs
But I can’t avoid them
I prayed for him
And put in his left hand, two bills I took from my wallet
I promised him
That I’d come back the next day, to get ready early
Because I was going to take him away
And the next day I looked for him in the big city
And found his body lying on a sidewalk
A new Bible in his hand
And in the other, a bill, one of those I gave him
Those who saw him last say
That he was kneeling, crying and asking for forgiveness
And those who examined his body say
That the homeless man died of a heart attack
And I cried, cried out of sadness and pain
And I cried, cried for this situation
I know God took him
It was the best for his life
I know God forgave him
He took him and saved his life
And I cried, cried out of sadness and pain
And I cried, cried for this situation
And I cried, cried out of sadness and pain
And I cried, cried for this situation
And I cried, cried out of sadness and pain
And I cried, cried for this situation
And I cried, cried out of sadness and pain
And I cried, cried for this situation
