Ahora Que Tengo 20 Años
Joan Manuel Serrat
Now That I'm 20 Years Old
Now that I'm twenty years old, now that I still have strength, that I don't have a dead soul, and I feel my blood boiling. Now that I feel capable of singing if another sings. Today that I still have a voice and still can believe in God... I want to sing to the stones, to the earth, to the water, to the wheat and to the road, that I'm treading on. To the night, to the sky, to this sea so ours, and to the wind that in the morning comes to kiss my face. I want to raise my voice for a storm, for a ray of sun, or for the nightingale that will sing at dusk. Now that I'm twenty years old, now that I still have strength, that I don't have a dead soul, and I feel my blood boiling. Now that I'm twenty years old, now that my heart races, for a moment of love, or when I see a child cry... I want to sing to love. To the first one. To the last one. To the one that makes you suffer. To the one you live for a day. I want to cry with those who are alone, and without any love they go through the world. I want to raise my voice, to sing to the men who are born standing, who live standing, and who die standing. I want and want and want to sing. Today that I still have a voice. Who knows if I'll have it tomorrow. But today I'm only twenty years old. Today I still have strength, and I don't have a dead soul, and I feel my blood boiling...
