Utopía
Joan Manuel Serrat
Utopia
Utopia was chased into the mountains by hounds that were raised on her knees and, unable to keep up, they betrayed her; and today, officials of the dream business within an order are in favor of castrating the pig so it gets fat. Oh! Utopia, a steed that turns us into miniature giants. Oh! Oh, Utopia, sweet as our daily bread! They want to catch the dawn because it fills the head with little birds; a deceiver that dazzles the naive and the blessed; as a sorceress that makes the blind see and the mute speak; as subversive of what is commanded, whoever commands. Oh! Utopia, uncorrectable that is not satisfied with the possible. Oh! Oh, Utopia that raises hurricanes of rebellion! They want to put chains on her But who is the one that puts gates on the mountain? Don't worry, before the dogs arrive, it will be a good man who finds her and takes care of her until better days come. Without utopia, life would be a rehearsal for death. Oh! Utopia, how I love you because you stir up the henhouse. Oh! Oh, Utopia, that lights the lanterns of the new day!
